and then there was Coda...

This place always felt classy and pretty down to earth to me. Tonight it was confirmed.
Greeted very nicely, nothing over bearing at all. Quite the opposite, a sweet IM asking to join the group with a care package delivered by Jacqueline. That's service. Now as far as the layout goes, well done. There are two rooms for live music all spacious for your avatars to shake it down. Can I say this...low lag. Now get on down there to see Noma? That is exactly what I am doing now. Enjoy.

Von Johin

Here is a real gem.
You can feel the roots of music subtly its there and before you know it you are taken.
Now twice I have been pleasured with that extra long set at DrJohn Lanes Prim Economy. That in itself a favorite place for me. You would be a fool not to.

Buddy's Bar

I found this place while wandering the sims for more music again, surprise, surprise.
I was at a Noma show and the Komuso came on next, so you know this is good already.
The establishment is a great build, well spaced out. When I asked about it I was told it was built after a first life bar and that peeked my interest.
Here is what they have to say;

Buddy's Bar is the new live music venue on SL. A replica of an Irish Pub in Limerick City in Munster, Ireland...situated down a seedy alleyway...with the Roadtramps biker Club, hippies, musicians artists..punk rock dj's to quality live artists, mainly Blues and Rock.

The owner Derric Foggarty is born and bred in Limerick and used to be a regular at the RL Buddy's bar. Derric's ambition is to bring to SL the unique atmosphere of Buddy's Bar, a friendly down to earth place for music lovers.

Tukso & Chaos...did it again.

They just bring us to the edge and drop us. I don't know about you but that is exactly what I want my music to do. Playing together at Tukso's Church of Jam. Also included a live video feed of the magic happening right before our eyes. A must for everyone. :)

All I can say is Noma

I have not written about her yet, hard to do Noma justice. She is all music and all woman.
If you want the good old Blues, this is who you see. Simple.
She has such a loyal following and is among the tops in live artists.
The voice is just indescribably and the bass, I am at a loss.

Here is a quote from her website;
Noma Falta is a musician playing blues and soulful rock in virtual worlds and In-person around the globe. Although she is a classically trained violinist, Noma left a 10 year career with symphonies to pursue her love of singing and playing live rock and blues music - and never looked back. Gospel and blues are the foundations of her singing as she learned from hanging and playing with her pals in the southern african- american communities in the South.
Her experience is extensive with years of live performance(her favorite!) and studio sessions.
From her first duo gig in coffee shop to a 12-piece Soul band to 3 piece blues bands - music is the journey that will never stop.

The Sun Dial for your world.

He completed it, the Sundial is available at his gallery. This machine is a beauty, the textures outstanding and the visual on the spot.

I have been interested in the art made in world and now that I have moved to a new home I can justly display these items. What is to be center stage? Yes, and I love it.
You can take a look at the completed project and other fine work from this artist at the following link.

Komuso's Blues

The music scene in world is astounding. The Blues in world is in its own realm.
One person leading that is Komuso Tokugawa. I am no expert on reviewing music, but I sure know what moves me. I can always be found at a show. Its simply amazing that this mans music can be shared around the world with all of us and he is willing to gift us.
Now if we are really blessed we get to be present during a duet with the non other Noma Falta. That is for another post. So please, come around and let yourself discover one of the better parts of Second Life. Support Live Music.

That is what lead me to see some of the most realistic B&W imagery to date in Second Life.
During an opening of new photos I stopped in and was greeted very pleasantly by Life.

Say What You Will About Ahearn...

This Welcome Area provides a good service to new people and old. Its a town center where one can go visit, they may run into someone they know or meet a new friend.
I do know much has been said about things in the past and all I can say is what I have seen and experienced. When I teleport in, or others, all I see and try to keep up with is the text of everyone saying hello to each other. Others making sure no one is left out or snubbed, lots of <3 being thrown up on my screen. I do see new accounts being helped and offered advice and given inventory by some. So its really all about perspective its your choice to make life miserable or see the off side to things that happen around you. Me? I will always at least try to see the brighter side to life.

All I can say is save save save

I was having some fun in world decided to change my shape randomly. Well after several shits and giggles later at the end I lost my orig shape. Figures, story of my life, I do one thing and it rolls into another. So below is the photo of me after I was done and wanted my regular shape back. Now I had a basic shape in my inventory and now almost a week later I almost have the face the way it was. So I am no wiz in world but please save your shape under appearance mode and name it something easy. I was told go by dates. Which helps me now. Good Luck :)

Nautilus

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Nautilus_City_investigation

So I went to visit the recent planned community from Linden Labs, Nautilus. I must say it is beautiful and has this old world feel to it. The homes I walked around had very nice roof tops and the view was surreal. What will become of this project once the residents settle in? I hope it will only be utilized and not what seems abandoned like Bay City, which was a ghost town last night. So please check it out and enjoy. :)
